Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on Monday 8 February, subject to moon sighting, and Eid Al Fitr on 9 or 10 March. Below is a week-by-week calendar of Ramadan social media campaign ideas for UAE brands: what to post in each of five phases, what to shoot before the month starts, and a free calendar template that moves every date for you if the start shifts by a day.

Counted from the end of October 2026, that leaves about fifteen weeks, and the shoot has to fit into the first seven. The working rule at BlueSky Studio in Al Quoz is to shoot eight to twelve weeks before Ramadan begins, which puts the shoot between 16 November and 14 December 2026. Retouching, marketplace uploads, paid media, influencer seeding and email all sit downstream of it. Studio dates in that window fill earlier than in any other period of the year.

The 2027 dates, and why they move your whole schedule

Ramadan campaign planning in Dubai starts from two dates. Both are projections by the UAE Astronomy Centre, as reported by The National, and both are subject to moon sighting:

  • Ramadan: expected to begin on Monday 8 February 2027 and to run 29 or 30 days
  • Eid Al Fitr: expected on Tuesday 9 March 2027 if Ramadan runs 29 days, or Wednesday 10 March if it runs 30

Ramadan moves about eleven days earlier each year, because the Hijri calendar follows the moon. Copy last year's schedule and every step lands about a week and a half late.

Count back from the date each asset has to be live, and the first of those dates comes before Ramadan does. Pre-Ramadan posts start about two weeks before the month, from 25 January. Eid pieces need to be live in the first days of Ramadan, because shoppers start browsing them inside the first two weeks. Between the shoot and each of those dates sit retouching, resizing, captions and approvals. That is why the shoot belongs in November or December. January is late.

When should you shoot a Ramadan campaign?

Before the month begins, in one block: a single Ramadan photoshoot in Dubai that covers every phase of the calendar. Once Ramadan starts, working days are shorter, many people on set will be fasting, and evenings are built around iftar. A ten-hour production day stops being a fair ask of a crew, a model or a makeup artist.

The second reason carries more weight. Everything you post in the first two weeks of Ramadan has to exist before it starts, and the Eid collection is the heaviest part of that. A collection shot after the month starts reaches the feed after shoppers have already started browsing.

Portraits follow a different calendar. The last ten days of Ramadan and the days just before Eid are the busiest slots of the year for family portraits. Brand campaigns belong in the weeks before the month.

So treat Ramadan as a release schedule. Everything is shot in one block beforehand, then posted phase by phase.

The five phases of Ramadan content, week by week

A Ramadan marketing calendar for the UAE splits into five phases, from late January to Eid week, each with its own mood and its own kind of post:

Phase2027 datesMoodWhat to postFormat
Two weeks before25 Jan to 7 FebGetting readyHome refresh, wardrobe edits, gifting lists, a first look at the Eid editFeed carousels, Stories
First ten days8 to 17 FebA new routineCalm family scenes, iftar at home, the Eid collection liveReels, feed
Middle ten days18 to 27 FebRoutine and convenienceQuick fixes, delivery, how-to clips, quieter product postsStories, short Reels
Last ten nights28 Feb to 8 or 9 MarEid preparation at its heightEid outfits, gift guides, order-by datesReels, Stories, paid
Eid weekFrom 9 or 10 MarCelebrationFamily portraits, colour, thank-you posts, restock newsFeed, Reels

Two rows run against habit. The Eid collection goes live in the first ten days, because shoppers start browsing Eid pieces inside the first two weeks of Ramadan. The last ten nights are when you push it hardest, with gift guides and the last order date for delivery before Eid.

The middle ten days want lighter content: shorter clips, practical posts about sizing and delivery, product in use. Save the loudest creative for later. Eid week is the loosest phase, with colour, families, thank-you posts and notes on restocks and returns.

Through the whole month, move the main posts to the evening, after iftar, and test late-night slots.

The calendar week by week

The phases follow the ten-day rhythm of the month, and the posting plan runs by the week. With Ramadan starting on Monday 8 February, the two line up like this:

WeekDatesPhaseMain posts that week
125 to 31 JanTwo weeks beforeWardrobe and home refresh, gifting lists, a teaser of the Eid edit
21 to 7 FebTwo weeks beforeFirst look at the Eid edit, the Ramadan greeting scheduled, delivery dates for Eid announced
38 to 14 FebFirst ten daysRamadan greeting on day one, calm at-home scenes, the Eid collection live
415 to 21 FebFirst ten days, middle ten from 18 FebEid collection Reels, sizing and delivery how-tos
522 to 28 FebMiddle ten days, last ten nights from 28 FebQuieter product posts and behind the scenes, the gift guide ready to post

78 to 14 MarThe last night or two, then EidThe Eid greeting on 9 or 10 March, family portraits, thank-you posts, restock news

The free calendar template further down has these seven weeks as rows, with columns for the platform, the asset, the owner and the status.

The asset list to shoot before the month starts

Fold the five phases into one shopping list. For a mid-size fashion, beauty or F&B brand it looks like this:

AssetPlanning countCarries
Hero campaign stills3 to 5Every phase, paid
Feed stills, on model and product25 to 35Feed and shop grid
Vertical videos8 to 12Reels, TikTok, paid
Stories frames20 to 30Daily Stories
Iftar or gifting table1 set-up, stills and videoFirst ten days, last ten nights
Founder or brand story1 short pieceTwo weeks before, Eid week

Treat these as planning numbers and adjust them to your own cadence. They assume four or five feed posts and one or two Reels a week for seven weeks, with a few spares for the posts you will want to replace.

Two habits stretch the list. Shoot each look against two backgrounds. Twelve looks on a textured wall and again in a warm-lit corner give you two runs of grid posts from one booking, with no extra day. And if you sell food, shoot the hero dishes and the table setting in the same session, with vertical video alongside the stills.

Fitting the list into one studio day

All six of BlueSky's permanent themed rooms are in one building in Al Quoz Industrial Area 3, and rooms can be combined in a single booking. The sets are already built, so the hours go on shooting. Start in the Heritage room's arches and lantern corner. Heritage is the default room for Ramadan and Eid campaigns, and its four zones are the Arch Zone, the Lantern Corner, the Carpet Area and the Traditional Niche.

HoursRoom and zonesWhat it covers
1 to 3Heritage, all four zonesCampaign hero, traditional frames, lantern-lit video
4 to 5Sand: Desert Wall, Warm Light ZoneEditorial looks on two backgrounds, product in context
6 to 7Hotel: Bedroom Set, Lounge AreaAt-home frames, the iftar table, getting-ready clips
8LobbyGroups, movement, long veils

Sand gives warmth without heavy props. The Hotel room's Bedroom Set and Lounge Area read as a home, which is what the iftar and at-home frames need. The Lobby takes groups of more than about eight and anything that moves.

Every booking includes access to all zones of the room, plus Profoto flash, Aputure continuous lighting, modifiers, stands, reflectors, backgrounds and support. Aputure light is in every room, so the stills and the vertical video come out of the same session.

The hourly rates differ by room. Heritage is from AED 350 + VAT an hour, or from AED 2,800 + VAT for eight hours. Sand and Hotel are from AED 320 + VAT an hour, or from AED 2,560 + VAT for eight hours. The Lobby is from AED 500 + VAT an hour. For a day split across rooms, ask for a quote on your exact split when you book a themed room by the hour. The studio is open 09:00 to 21:00, seven days a week.

To have the day run for you instead, the Golden production package from AED 5,900 + VAT covers 20 to 25 pieces in three to four hours, with a photographer and a videographer, a model with basic hair and makeup, all rooms, 90 edited photos and reels.

Tone rules that keep the work respectful

These are production decisions, so settle them before the shoot:

  • Keep eating and drinking out of anything scheduled to post during fasting hours. Food frames go out in the evening.
  • Keep discount language quiet in the first two weeks, and let it rise into the last ten nights without turning loud.
  • Dress and frame with modesty, and choose warmth over spectacle.
  • Keep sale graphics away from religious imagery altogether.

Crescents and fairy lights are the default template, and a feed built on them looks like every other feed that week. A warm, lantern-lit niche carries the season with more restraint than a graphic crescent laid over a product shot.

Where each asset goes: feed, Reels, Stories and paid

Brief the crops before the shoot. Ramadan social media content and marketplace listings need four different shapes, and framing for all of them on the day costs less than reframing afterwards.

Frame stills with room on every side, so a 9:16 and a 4:5 can both come out of one frame. Shoot vertical video vertically. A 9:16 cut from a horizontal clip keeps about a third of its width.

Agree paid social usage with models and creators before the shoot day. A frame you cannot run as an ad is worth less in the last ten nights, when you most want to put money behind it. If creator content belongs in the plan, BlueSky's UGC roster runs to 150+ permit-verified UAE creators, with packages from AED 4,400 + VAT and seven working days from brief to ad-ready.

A free Ramadan 2027 calendar template

We put this calendar into a spreadsheet you can copy: download the Ramadan 2027 social media calendar. It is an Excel file, and Google Sheets opens it through File, Import. It has three sheets:

  • Calendar: the seven weeks with their dates, phase, mood and main posts, plus columns for the platform, the asset, the owner and the status
  • Assets: the shot list from this article with the planning counts, to tick off on the shoot day
  • Dates: the expected first day of Ramadan in one cell. If the moon sighting moves it by a day, change that cell and every date in the calendar moves with it

If you would rather hand over the whole month

Some brands run this calendar themselves and only need the shoot. Others hand over the month: the plan, the studio day, the posting and the replies. That is what our monthly social media management for fashion and abaya brands covers, with every Reel shot in our own rooms in Al Quoz. To see where your account stands before Ramadan, ask for a free Instagram audit on WhatsApp: we reply with what works, five fixes and one test to run.

Your countdown to 8 February

Counted back from the expected start on 8 February 2027, subject to moon sighting:

  1. By early November: map the asset list to the five phases and hold a shoot date.
  2. Two to three weeks before the shoot: sign off the creative direction and lock casting, styling and makeup, all three bookable through the studio.
  3. Between 16 November and 14 December: the shoot, in one block, eight to twelve weeks before the month.
  4. December and January: retouching, resizing, captions, marketplace uploads, paid media, influencer seeding and email.
  5. From 25 January: the pre-Ramadan phase goes live.
  6. The first days of Ramadan: the Eid collection is live.

Frequently asked questions

When does Ramadan start in 2027?
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on Monday 8 February 2027, subject to moon sighting, and to last 29 or 30 days. Eid Al Fitr is expected on 9 or 10 March 2027, also subject to moon sighting. Ramadan moves about eleven days earlier each year, so last year's dates are no guide. Confirm the start against the official UAE announcement as the month approaches, and plan the shoot well before it.
How much content does a brand need for Ramadan?
As a planning figure for a mid-size brand, 25 to 35 feed stills, 8 to 12 vertical videos and a bank of 20 to 30 Stories frames cover the seven weeks from late January to Eid week. That assumes four or five feed posts and one or two Reels a week. Coverage matters more than the total: each of the five phases needs its own assets, all shot before the month begins.
Is it appropriate to run discounts during Ramadan?
Yes. Ramadan and Eid offers are a normal part of retail in the UAE. What changes is the volume. Keep promotional language quiet in the first two weeks, let it build through the last ten nights as Eid shopping and gifting pick up, and keep sale graphics away from religious imagery. A gifting edit or free delivery before Eid often carries an offer better than a large percentage sign.
What should brands post in the last ten nights of Ramadan?
Content that helps people get ready for Eid: outfit edits, gift guides, the last order date for delivery before Eid, and warm family imagery. Offers can be at their strongest here, but the last ten nights carry particular weight in the month, so keep the tone generous and calm. Schedule the main posts for the evening, after iftar. Every one of these assets should be shot and approved before Ramadan begins.
Is there a Ramadan calendar template we can copy?
Yes. The Ramadan 2027 social media calendar on this page is a free Excel file that also opens in Google Sheets. It holds the seven weeks from 25 January to Eid week, the asset list with planning counts, and the expected start date in one cell, so a shift in the moon sighting moves every date at once.
