Skincare brand content ideas are easy to find; a month of posts that adds up to a brand is harder. Content pillars fix that: a handful of themes every post belongs to, so the feed teaches, shows and sells in a planned proportion rather than whatever was shot last. Below are six pillars for a skincare brand launching in the UAE, the formats for each, and how they run across a launch.

The case examples come from our launch work for Dr.Glowed's Stardust face serum, for which we made the whole visual library: feed posts, stories and Reels.

The six pillars at a glance

PillarWhat it doesFormats
1. TextureShows the formula itselfTexture close-ups: a smear on glass, a cream lifted on a spatula, a droplet of serum pulling a thread
2. RitualShows how to use itApplication Reels, morning and evening routines, how much and in what order
3. IngredientsExplains what is in itCarousels, short explainers, label close-ups, answers to questions from the comments
4. ProofLets other people speakCreator content and customer posts shared with permission
5. BrandShows who is behind itUnboxing, packaging, the founder, behind the scenes
6. OfferSellsThe launch countdown, the hero post, pack shots and where to buy

1. Texture: the shot that sells the formula

Texture shows the formula in a way no caption can, and these are the frames that end up in paid social. They are also the hardest to make: emulsions separate and creams go glossy under heat, so textures are shot with flash, or with continuous light run low and close, then wiped and reset. Each texture setup takes roughly 20 to 30 minutes to build, shoot and clean up. For Dr.Glowed, the launch library included texture close-ups.

2. Ritual: how much, in what order

Application and routine Reels answer the questions a buyer has before the first use: how much, on what, morning or evening, and in what order. Put the text on screen for people watching without sound. In-use frames look most real in a real setting: we shoot them in the Hotel room's bathroom zone, with a real shelf and mirror, or in the Beige room's natural light corner. For Dr.Glowed, the library included application rituals.

3. Ingredients: say what is in it, and stop there

Explain the key ingredients in plain words: what each one is and why it is in the formula, and answer the questions that come up in the comments. Keep every claim to what you can substantiate. Paid posts have their own limits: TikTok's policy for the UAE does not allow cosmetics ads to make medical claims without an approved medical licence or certification. Its examples of what is not allowed include claims to remove or cure acne, remove wrinkles or treat hair loss, promises of permanent changes to the body, and exaggerated promises about what a product does.

4. Proof: creators and customers

Proof is other people saying it works, and many brands run this pillar through creators. Since 1 February 2026, anyone who promotes a product on social media in the UAE needs an Advertiser Permit, paid or not, and brands are expected to check it. Customer posts can be shared too: ask before you repost.

How creator content compares with influencer posts and studio content for ads is in UGC, influencers or studio content.

5. Brand: the people and the packaging

Unboxing sequences, the box and the bottle, the founder, the making of the launch: this pillar is why someone remembers the brand rather than the product category. For Dr.Glowed, the launch library included unboxing sequences and ambassador-style content with models. If the packaging is bilingual, line the labels up on set so the Arabic and the English both read straight.

6. Offer: the launch, and where to buy

The hero post, the launch date, bundles and where to buy. Keep this pillar small: a feed that only sells gives people little reason to follow it. If the range sells on Amazon, Noon or Namshi, the pack shots can be composed to each marketplace's crop on set.

How the pillars run across a launch

PhasePillars that leadWhat goes out
Before launchTexture, BrandTexture close-ups and unboxing teasers that show the product without giving everything away, and a date people can wait for
Launch weekOffer, RitualThe hero post, the product in use, the first Reels showing how to apply it
After launchRitual, Proof, IngredientsMorning and evening routines, creator content for paid social, ingredient explainers and answers to the questions in the comments

A month by pillar

Say you post four or five feed posts and one or two Reels a week: a month comes to about 20 feed posts and 6 Reels. One way to split them after launch:

PillarFeed postsReels
Texture42
Ritual32
Ingredients40
Proof41
Brand31
Offer20

Treat the split as a starting point. After a month or two, the figures by pillar say where to move posts.

Shooting the pillars in the studio

In the studio, pack shots move quickly, each texture setup takes 20 to 30 minutes, and in-use frames are shot in the Hotel or Beige rooms. Plan the booking by pillar, and the shot list follows from it. Studio time starts from AED 320 + VAT per hour if your own team shoots. Creator content and answers to comments are made outside the studio, through the month.

Ads: the rules for skincare

  • Meta. Non-permanent cosmetic products such as creams and make-up are outside Meta's 18+ targeting requirement, but ads for cosmetic products still cannot contain statements of inferiority about a person's appearance. Meta also does not allow ads for skin whitening or bleaching products that cause a permanent change in skin colour, or clickbait in a health context, such as promises of specific results within a set time without qualifiers.
  • TikTok, UAE. Cosmetics ads may run without medical claims: no claims to remove or cure acne, remove wrinkles or treat hair loss, no promises of permanent changes to the body, and no exaggerated promises about a product's effect.
  • Creators as ads. A creator video run as an ad needs a paid licence. For the creators we book, that is from AED 200 + VAT per video for six months from your own account.

Measure by pillar

Tag every post in your content log with its pillar, then compare pillars month by month: views, the share of views from people who do not follow you, saves, and the messages each one brings. Our free social media report template has a content log; add columns for the pillar, the non-follower share and messages.

Where we come in

We plan, shoot and run social media for skincare and cosmetics brands from our studio in Al Quoz, or make the content on its own if your team does the posting. To start with a second opinion on your account, send your handle for a free Instagram audit.

Frequently asked questions

What are content pillars for a skincare brand?
A handful of themes every post belongs to, such as texture, ritual, ingredients, proof, brand and offer, so the feed teaches, shows and sells in a planned proportion.
How many content pillars should a skincare brand have?
Four to six is a workable range. With fewer, the feed repeats itself; with more, each theme gets too few posts to be remembered.
What content works for a skincare launch?
Texture close-ups and unboxing teasers before the launch, the hero post and how-to Reels in launch week, then routines, creator content and answers to comments after it.
Can skincare ads claim to remove wrinkles?
Not on TikTok in the UAE without an approved medical licence or certification: its policy lists claims to remove or cure acne, remove wrinkles or treat hair loss among the medical claims cosmetics ads may not make. Keep claims to what the formula can substantiate.
Do skincare creators need a permit in the UAE?
Yes. Since 1 February 2026, anyone who promotes a product on social media in the UAE needs an Advertiser Permit, paid or not, and brands are expected to check it.
Can texture, in-use and pack shots be shot in the same studio booking?
Yes. Pack shots move quickly, each texture setup takes roughly 20 to 30 minutes, and in-use frames are shot in the Hotel room's bathroom zone or the Beige room's natural light corner.

Kate founded BlueSky Studio, registered the company and opened the Al Quoz Industrial Area 3 location, and designed the six permanent sets the studio shoots in. She sets the rates quoted in these guides and works on the floor with the teams who book them, so the timings, the equipment and the numbers here come from the rooms rather than from a content brief.
