Close-up of a stylist's hands lathering a client's hair at a salon basin in Dubai

Here are 30 beauty salon Reels ideas, grouped by service, for salons in Dubai that want Instagram to fill the chairs rather than just look busy. They grow out of the formats we filmed for two Dubai salons, Crush Dubai and SIA, across hair, nails and lashes: masters at work, before and after by service, and hooks with trending audio, one set for each service rather than one video about the whole salon.

People choose a salon on three things they can check on Instagram: the work of the masters, the look of the place and how easy it is to book. Every idea below shows at least one of the three.

Three rules that make any of these work

  • One service per Reel. A Reel about lashes is more likely to reach people who want lashes. A Reel about the whole salon speaks to nobody in particular.
  • One way to book. End each Reel on the same route, the WhatsApp number or the booking link in the bio. A Reel that makes someone want the service and then leaves them hunting for a number is half a Reel.
  • The first second decides. Open on the change, the hands or a question, never on a logo. Keep text on screen for people watching with the sound off, and keep it short: the Reels on our Reels production page run from 8 to 20 seconds, which leaves room for one idea.

Hair: 8 Reels ideas

  1. The chair turn. Start from behind the client, turn the chair, show the finished look. Same light before and after, so the change is the only difference.
  2. The colour on screen. The bowl being mixed, the shade named in text, then the result in daylight.
  3. A blow-dry in three cuts: wet, half done, finished. Five seconds each.
  4. The wash. A slow close-up at the basin, hands and foam, no talking. It is the part of the visit people remember.
  5. Ask the stylist. One question, answered in 15 seconds: how often to tone blonde, what to do before a keratin treatment.
  6. The cut everyone asks for this month, on a real client who has agreed to be filmed.
  7. Hair for an occasion. A wedding guest or an Eid look, start to finish, with the date it is for.
  8. The shelf. What the stylist uses and why, product by product, for salons that sell retail.

Nails: 6 Reels ideas

  1. The turn of the hand. Shape and finish under the light, slowly, from three angles.
  2. Three shades, one vote. Three tips painted, the choice put to followers in Stories, the winner posted the next day.
  3. Before and after a refill, both frames from the same angle.
  4. Nail art in time-lapse, with the design named in text for people who want to book it.
  5. Two friends, matching hands. Good for weekend slots and for tagging.
  6. The tools before the client. Sterilising and laying out the station. It answers the hygiene question before anyone asks it.

Lashes and brows: 5 Reels ideas

  1. Eyes closed, eyes open. The simplest reveal there is, and still the one that stops the scroll.
  2. Brows before and after, the same light and the same angle on both frames.
  3. The lash map explained: length and curl, drawn on the pad before the set.
  4. Aftercare in three points, for the first 24 hours.
  5. Lift or extensions? One Reel that helps people choose, with both on screen.

Facials and treatments: 4 Reels ideas

  1. The room before the client arrives: towels, light, the products laid out.
  2. A facial in five cuts, hands and products only.
  3. Textures up close: a mask, a serum, a cream on the back of the hand.
  4. Your first visit: what happens from the door to the chair, for people who have never booked a treatment.

If a treatment is given by a DHA-licensed professional or in a DHA-licensed facility, posts about it fall under the Dubai Health Authority's standard for medical advertising on social media, and our clinic Reels formats within DHA rules cover what changes.

The salon and the team: 4 Reels ideas

  1. Door to chair in one take: the entrance, the lounge, the coffee, the details a client notices on arrival.
  2. Meet the master: a name, a speciality and one signature service, in under 20 seconds.
  3. A day in the salon in 15 seconds, from the first appointment to closing.
  4. Three services, three prices. Each price shown as a starting price, with the booking route on screen.

Seasonal and booking: 3 Reels ideas

  1. Season looks: Eid, Ramadan evenings, National Day. Our Ramadan social media calendar maps the Ramadan and Eid weeks, and our National Day ideas cover 2 December.
  2. This week's open slots, filmed in the empty chair, posted where the week has gaps.
  3. A client's own words, read aloud or on screen, with the client's written consent and only for the use they agreed to.

What we filmed for Crush Dubai and SIA

For Crush Dubai the task was consistent Reels for hair, nails and lashes that turn viewers into bookings. We filmed backstage footage of the masters at work, before and after transformations, and hook-driven Reels with trending audio for each service category, and delivered a ready-to-publish content library.

For SIA we shot backstage Reels of hairstyling and nail services in progress, before and after content and atmospheric photos for the feed and Stories. The result was a complete content set across every service category, built for feed posts, Stories and Highlights. How we run salon accounts month to month is on social media for beauty salons in Dubai.

How to film them without stopping the salon

Film in batches, not between appointments. A quiet morning can produce two weeks of Reels if the shot list is written first: which service, which master, which client has agreed to be filmed, and what the first second shows.

Salon services are best filmed where they happen, with your chairs, your basins and your light. Our on-location shoots start from AED 3,500 + VAT for a half day, with crew, lighting and retouching. Campaign content, such as a new treatment launch or model shots for a price list, often works better in a studio, and the Hotel room in our Al Quoz studio has bathroom and lounge zones that read as a spa, with studio time from AED 320 + VAT per hour.

Not sure which of the 30 your account needs first? Our free Instagram audit looks at the account and sends back five fixes for this week.

Frequently asked questions

What are good Reels ideas for a beauty salon?
Formats with a visible change: a before and after by service, the chair turn, nail art in time-lapse, eyes closed and open for lashes. Add masters at work and the salon itself, and end every Reel on one way to book.
How many Reels should a salon post?
There is no magic number. A rhythm the team can keep every week beats a burst before Eid and silence after it. Plan by service, so that each service you want to fill appears at least once a month.
Can we film our clients?
Only with their consent, given before filming, and only for the use they agreed to. Many of the ideas above need no client at all: hands, tools, products and the salon itself.
How long should a salon Reel be?
Long enough for one idea. The examples on our Reels production page run from 8 to 20 seconds, with the text on screen burned in for people watching without sound.
Should we film on a phone or with a professional?
A phone is fine for everyday Stories. Before and after sets and campaign Reels look better with controlled light, which is what a professional shoot in the salon or the studio adds.
