Eid Al Fitr 2027 is expected on 9 or 10 March, subject to moon sighting. Count back twelve weeks and an Eid campaign's production timeline starts in mid-December, the latest sensible date for the shoot. The last four of those weeks fall inside Ramadan, and retouching, uploads and paid media fill the eight weeks before it.

Ramadan is expected to begin on Monday 8 February 2027, also subject to moon sighting. BlueSky Studio in Al Quoz Industrial Area 3 works to one rule for Eid collections: shoot eight to twelve weeks before Ramadan begins. For 2027 that window runs from 16 November to 14 December 2026. Reading this in November puts you early for the twelve-week count and on time for the shoot.

Why twelve weeks, and where four of them go

Ramadan moves about eleven days earlier each year, so a plan copied from last year runs about eleven days late. In 2027 the twelve weeks run from mid-December to Eid, and Ramadan, which the UAE Astronomy Centre projects at 29 or 30 days, takes the last four.

Treat those four weeks as release time. Shoppers start browsing Eid pieces inside the first two weeks of Ramadan, so an image finished during the month reaches them after they have started looking. Anything new has to be ready before the month begins.

That leaves eight weeks, mid-December to early February, for the work that follows the camera. Retouching, marketplace uploads, paid media, influencer seeding and email all sit downstream of the shoot, which is why the rule for Ramadan and Eid photoshoots counts from the start of Ramadan. Eight weeks before the expected start of Ramadan falls on Monday 14 December, just before week 12.

Before week 12: line, samples, casting and the studio date

Freeze the collection list first. Every piece added after the studio is booked changes the hours, the package and the retouch count, and it reopens every other decision.

Order samples in the size the model will wear, with time for alterations. A sample two sizes too big can be pinned at the back for the front frames, and it shows the moment the model turns.

Pick the room next, because the room sets the moodboard. Heritage is the studio's default for Ramadan and Eid campaigns, with its Arch Zone, Lantern Corner, Carpet Area and Traditional Niche. Sand suits warm editorial without heavy props, across the Desert Wall, Earth Tones Corner, Minimalist Set and Warm Light Zone. Kate's Package includes two different rooms and Golden includes all of them.

Casting can be the shortest job on the list. All four fashion and abaya packages include a model with basic hair and makeup, and casting is bookable through the studio. If you cast elsewhere, agree the day rate and the usage period in writing before the shoot.

Makeup beyond the basic look is booked separately. The makeup artist rates for a shoot day start with Basic Glam from AED 500 + VAT for one look in an hour. Full Glam from AED 900 + VAT covers two looks with hairstyling, and Creative Look from AED 1,400 + VAT covers three looks with a dedicated artist for the session. Each hair change between looks costs schedule time, so group the pieces by hair and makeup.

Ask for the studio date the week the line is frozen, for a shoot on or before 14 December. Dates in the pre-Ramadan window fill earlier than any other period of the year.

The shoot: how much fits in a booking

There is no fixed number of looks per day. The pace depends on changes and touch-ups far more than on the camera, so the package scopes are the better guide.

Each of the fashion and abaya production tiers includes the model. Start and All-In add a steaming assistant, and Kate's Package and Golden add a videographer. Concept, crew, shoot and retouching all stay in house.

The biggest speed factor is the rail. Garments that arrive steamed and hang in shooting order keep the model in front of the camera. A rail that still needs pressing turns every change into a wait.

A brand with its own photographer can book a room instead. The hourly and full-day studio rates put eight hours from AED 2,560 + VAT in Sand, Beige or Hotel and from AED 2,800 + VAT in Heritage or Concrete, with Profoto flash, Aputure continuous lighting, modifiers, stands, reflectors and backgrounds included. The studio is open Monday to Sunday, 09:00 to 21:00.

Shoot the e-commerce frames on the same day: campaign first, then the clean listing frames under one locked light. If the listings are the larger job, product photography for online stores starts at AED 1,800 + VAT for up to 20 products in two hours.

Weeks 12 to 9: selects, retouch and approvals

Choose the selects within 48 hours of the shoot. The retoucher cannot start without them, and the year-end holidays fall inside these weeks, so put the selects meeting in the diary before anyone travels.

On garment work, retouch time goes on three things. Texture: black has to keep its weave without turning grey. Colour: gold thread has to stay gold, and a dyed shade has to match the sample. Cleanup: creases, lint and uneven hems, on every finished file. The work grows with the number of selects. Twenty pieces at three frames each is sixty finished files, the number All-In delivers, before a single crop is cut. That makes the selects list the place to control the schedule.

Name one approver and one deputy before the shoot, and agree how many rounds of changes there will be. Every extra person in the chain tends to add a round, and every round costs days.

Agree the delivery date for the edited files in writing when you book. If the studio produces the shoot, the retouching sits inside the same package, so settle the date in the same message as the booking. Plan weeks 8 to 5 from it.

Weeks 8 to 1: versions, uploads and the release

Each select becomes several files: a 4:5 crop for the feed, 9:16 for Reels and Stories, the sizes each marketplace asks for, and wide banners for the website and email. Twenty looks in four versions is eighty files to export, name and upload. Count the versions per look before briefing the retoucher, check the marketplace image specs at the same time, and name every file by style code and version so the upload team never has to ask which is which.

Write the Arabic and English captions together in January. Captions translated on launch day are where mistakes get published.

By the first week of February, the uploads should be in place and the paid media built and scheduled. Shoppers start browsing Eid pieces inside the first two weeks of Ramadan, so the collection has to be visible as the month begins.

Inside Ramadan, the posting plan runs as written: the collection live at the start, a second push in the middle of the month, and a last reminder with delivery cut-offs before Eid. If anything needs a reshoot, ask early. The last ten days of Ramadan and the days just before Eid are the busiest slots of the year for family portraits.

What slips, and what to do about it

Four problems push Eid campaigns late, and each has a cheap fix if it is caught early.

  • Samples arrive late or in the wrong size. Set the sample deadline a week before the shoot, and pick up late pieces in a short session; the minimum booking is one hour.
  • The model drops out. A package includes the model; if you cast elsewhere, hold a second choice in writing.
  • One approval round becomes three. Name the approver and agree the number of rounds before the shoot.
  • A colour photographs differently from the swatch. Bring the physical swatch, shoot a grey card at the start of each colourway, and check one image against the garment before the batch is retouched. If a shade is already off in the selects, correct it with the garment held beside the screen.

Run through all four in the week before the shoot, while a fix still costs a phone call. Left any later, each one moves the shoot or the retouch by days, and the 2027 calendar has little room to absorb a lost week.

Starting at eight weeks: the compressed plan

Eight weeks before Eid is around 12 or 13 January, about four weeks before Ramadan and a month after the studio's shoot window closes. A smaller campaign still fits.

Cut the look count to the pieces that carry the collection. All-In covers 10 to 20 pieces in two hours with the model included, which is enough for a cut-down Eid edit. Shoot one day, in one room, and skip a fresh casting. Shoot campaign and e-commerce frames together. Accept one approval round, and retouch the hero pieces first so they are live as Ramadan begins, with the rest following in its first week.

What you give up is range depth, a second set, model choice and time to test paid media. Ask for the studio date before anything else, since pre-Ramadan dates are the first to go.

When you message the studio on WhatsApp, +971 50 503 9936, send three things: the look count, the sample delivery date and the date the images have to be live.

Frequently asked questions

When is Eid Al Fitr 2027?
Eid Al Fitr 2027 is expected on 9 or 10 March 2027, subject to moon sighting. It follows Ramadan, which is expected to begin on Monday 8 February 2027, also subject to moon sighting, with the UAE Astronomy Centre projecting 29 or 30 days. The exact dates are confirmed only when the crescent is sighted, so a launch plan should be built around the earlier of the two possible days.
Do you need a separate shoot for e-commerce and campaign images?
Most collections can produce e-commerce and campaign images from one booking, provided the shot list splits them into two blocks. Shoot the campaign frames on the set, then the clean listing frames under one locked light, so nobody rebuilds the light for every garment. One session also keeps each colour consistent between the hero image and the listing. Tell the studio beforehand which marketplaces the files are for, because Amazon requires the main image on a pure white background.
Is it too late to start an Eid campaign eight weeks before Eid?
Eight weeks before an Eid expected on 9 or 10 March 2027, subject to moon sighting, falls around 12 or 13 January, about four weeks before Ramadan. That is later than the studio's working rule of shooting eight to twelve weeks before Ramadan begins, but a smaller campaign still works. Cut the look count, shoot one day with campaign and e-commerce frames together, accept a single approval round and retouch the hero pieces first.
What usually delays an Eid campaign?
Eid campaigns are usually delayed by four things: samples that arrive late or in the wrong size, a model who drops out, an approval round that turns into three, and a colour that photographs differently from the swatch. Each one moves the shoot or the retouch by days, and the weeks before Ramadan leave little room to recover. Fix the sample deadline, the approver and the model before the studio date, and bring the physical swatch to the shoot.
