The 32nd Dubai Shopping Festival runs from Friday 4 December 2026 to Sunday 17 January 2027: 45 days of promotions, raffles and events, organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment. Below are Dubai Shopping Festival marketing ideas for fashion and abaya brands, set out as a content plan for before, during and after the festival, with discount formats that sell without teaching customers to wait for the next sale.

One other date matters as much as DSF itself. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on 8 February, subject to moon sighting, and the Eid collection has to be shot between mid-November and mid-December. For a fashion brand the DSF shoot and the Ramadan shoot fall in the same four weeks, so plan them together.

DSF 2026-27 at a glance

  • Dates: 4 December 2026 to 17 January 2027, 45 days, as announced in October
  • Organiser: Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment. The full programme of sales, raffles and events is due in November on mydsf.ae
  • Around it: UAE National Day on 2 December, New Year in the middle of the festival, and the pre-Ramadan weeks from late January

Shoppers come for the offers, but DSF is also when the city is out: malls, markets, concerts and visitors. A brand that posts nothing but discount graphics for six weeks gets some sales and loses the story. The plan below keeps both.

Before DSF: build the edit, not the countdown

From mid-November to 3 December, give people a reason to choose you once offers are everywhere:

  • A DSF edit: 8 to 12 pieces chosen for the season, shot as one story rather than a sale catalogue
  • Styling posts: one abaya or dress worn three ways, for the mall, for dinner and for a family visit
  • Wishlists in Stories: let followers save pieces before the festival, then tell them first when those pieces join an offer
  • Practical posts: delivery times during DSF, store locations and hours, and how exchanges work

Post the edit in the first days of December rather than in mid-November, or it looks old by the time the offers start. National Day on 2 December comes first, and our National Day ideas for brands cover that week.

During DSF: three stages in 45 days

StageDatesWhat to post
Opening week4 to 10 DecThe DSF edit goes live, where to buy, the offer explained in one clear frame, a launch Reel
Middle weeks11 Dec to 10 JanStyling Reels, gifting for the holidays and New Year, customer photos, creator content
Final week11 to 17 JanLast chance on the edit, bundles, restock news, a thank-you post

The middle weeks are the longest stretch and the easiest to fill with repeats. Plan one new idea a week: a styling series, a behind-the-scenes clip from the shoot, a customer wearing the piece, a short Q&A about fabric and fit.

Test evening slots. During DSF people are in the malls after work, and Stories about what is in store tonight fit that moment better than a feed post at noon.

If creators are part of the plan, check each one's permit before the first paid post: what brands must check under the UAE Advertiser Permit. The UGC creators we work with are permit-verified.

Discount formats that do not cheapen the brand

You do not have to cut prices across the board to take part. Formats that sell without teaching followers to wait for a sale:

  • Gift with purchase: a scarf, a pin or free alterations above a set spend
  • Bundles: an abaya with a matching shayla, or two pieces at one price
  • Early access: followers who saved a piece get the offer a day before everyone else
  • A limited DSF edit: a capsule priced for the festival, instead of a percentage off everything
  • Free delivery and exchanges for the 45 days

Keep the brand content and the sale content apart. The grid carries the collection and the styling, while Stories and paid ads carry the offer. A feed that is all price tags for six weeks still looks like that in February, when the Ramadan shoppers arrive.

Keep the hero photography clean as well. Put the offer in the caption, a sticker or a separate frame, never printed across an image you will want to use again for Ramadan.

What to shoot for DSF in one studio day

A fashion brand can cover the whole festival in one day, shot in the second half of November:

AssetPlanning countUsed for
Edit stills, on model15 to 25Feed, website, marketplaces
Styling Reels, one piece three ways4 to 6Reels, TikTok, paid
Offer frames with space for text6 to 10Stories, ads
Details: fabric, embroidery, fit15 to 20Carousels, product pages
Behind-the-scenes clips3 to 5Stories in the middle weeks

Shoot the offer frames with empty space where the text will go, so nobody has to cover the product with a sticker later. Shoot the same looks in a second room as well, and the middle weeks get new backgrounds without a second booking.

At BlueSky Studio in Al Quoz the six themed rooms are in one building and can be combined in one booking: Beige for clean daylight, Concrete for a modern line, Sand for warmth and the Lobby for movement. Rooms are from AED 320 + VAT an hour, with lighting included. To have the day run for you, the fashion and abaya packages start from AED 1,500 + VAT, and the Golden package from AED 5,900 + VAT covers 20 to 25 pieces with a photographer, a videographer and a model.

If Ramadan content is on the list too, book the two shoots back to back. Our Ramadan 2027 social media calendar has the Ramadan asset list and the dates.

After DSF: keep the customers, not only the sales

From 18 January the offers stop and the follow-up starts:

  • A thank-you post with what you can share: pieces that sold out, the cities you delivered to
  • Styling content for what people bought, so the pieces get worn and photographed
  • Customer photos and reviews, shared with permission
  • From late January, the pre-Ramadan weeks and a first look at the Eid edit

The weeks after DSF decide whether a festival buyer follows you or forgets you, so give them as much care as the opening week.

Frequently asked questions

When is Dubai Shopping Festival 2026-27?
The 32nd edition runs from Friday 4 December 2026 to Sunday 17 January 2027, 45 days in all, organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment. The full programme of sales, raffles and events is published on mydsf.ae. Plan your content from mid-November so the DSF edit is ready to post in the first days of December.
When should a fashion brand shoot its DSF content?
In the second half of November, which leaves time for retouching and captions before 4 December. It is also the window for Eid and Ramadan 2027 content, so a brand that books both shoots back to back covers December to March in two studio days.
Do brands have to offer discounts during DSF?
No. A gift with purchase, a bundle, early access for followers or a limited DSF edit all bring in festival shoppers without a percentage off everything. They also avoid teaching customers to wait for the next sale.
What should a brand post after DSF ends?
A thank-you post, styling content for the pieces people bought and customer photos shared with permission, then the pre-Ramadan weeks from late January. The weeks after the festival decide whether its buyers stay.
