UGC, Influencers or Studio Content: What to Use for Ads in the UAE

Three frames side by side: a phone mirror selfie of a woman in a black abaya and a grey overshirt, a studio shot of a model in a black lace-trimmed abaya against a white backdrop, and two women in matching striped shirt dresses walking out of a villa gate

UGC vs influencer marketing often comes up when a brand in the UAE plans its ads, and studio content belongs in the same comparison. The three buy different things. An influencer sells you their audience, a UGC creator sells you a video for your own channels and ads, and a studio shoot sells you the product at its best. This guide compares them on price, speed, permits and look, and says which to use when.

We make UGC with our own creator roster and shoot in our own studio in Al Quoz, so where our published prices help, we give them.

What each one is

  • Influencer marketing. A person with an audience posts about your product on their own account, to their followers. You are paying for their reach and for the trust their followers place in them.
  • UGC, user-generated content. A creator films a video in the style of a real customer, and you post it on your channels or run it as an ad. The creator's own following hardly matters; the video does.
  • Studio content. A production team shoots your product with lighting, sets, styling and retouching, for your feed, your listings, your campaigns and your ads.

The UGC prices come from our UGC page: independent creators in Dubai at AED 600 to 1,500 per video phone-filmed and AED 1,500 to 3,500 scripted and ad-ready, and our packages from AED 4,400 + VAT for four videos.

When influencers are the right call

Book an influencer when the audience is the point: a launch, an opening, an event, a community that already trusts the person. The fee buys a moment of attention from people who chose to follow them, not a file you own, so check what that audience is before you pay:

  • Where the followers are. Ask for a screenshot of the top countries and cities in their Insights. A Dubai brand needs followers in the UAE.
  • Results in figures. Ask for the results of an earlier campaign in figures you can compare: views, link clicks, codes used.
  • The permit and the label. The influencer needs a valid Advertiser Permit, and the post has to be labelled as an advert.
  • The contract. Number of posts and stories, dates, approval of the post, exclusivity, and whether you can run the post as an ad afterwards, for how long and at what price.

When UGC is the right call

Use UGC for paid social. Ads need variations: different hooks, different openings, a version in Arabic. A UGC package buys several videos and hook variations, from AED 4,400 + VAT for four videos with four hooks, and the files come cut for ads, in 9:16 and 1:1 and named by hook, so your media team can test them.

Organic use on your own channels is included for 12 months; running the videos as ads is licensed on top. From your own account, that is from AED 200 + VAT per video for six months or AED 350 + VAT for twelve. UGC can also run from the creator's handle when that works better than the brand's: on TikTok as Spark Ads, on Instagram and Facebook as Partnership ads. That needs the creator's authorization and a licence, from AED 400 + VAT per video per three months with us.

When studio content is the right call

Use the studio when the product has to look its best: jewellery, perfume, skincare texture, an abaya in black fabric that shows every crease. It is also the source of the photos everything else leans on: the hero image for a campaign, the marketplace listing, the grid that has to look like one brand.

A studio shoot can give you vertical video as well. One day shot vertical can feed Reels, TikTok and Snapchat, as our Reels production page shows.

How the three fit in one campaign

Many campaigns use more than one. A feed that is all polished stops reading as a real person, and a feed that is all phone video cannot carry a premium product. A product launch, for example, might run like this:

  1. Before launch: a studio shoot for the hero images, the listings and a few vertical videos.
  2. Launch week: one or two influencers for reach, each with a permit and a labelled post.
  3. Ads: UGC videos with several hooks, and the best influencer or creator post boosted from their handle with a licence.
  4. After launch: keep what worked running, and move the budget away from what did not.

Permits, labels and approvals

Since 1 February 2026, anyone who promotes a product, a service or content on social media in the UAE needs an Advertiser Permit, paid or not, and brands and agencies are expected to check it. That covers influencers and the creators who promote you. Look for the permit number on the profile, ask for proof before you pay or gift anything, write the number into the contract, and label sponsored content as an advert. Our guide to the UAE Advertiser Permit sets out the checks.

Studio content your brand posts itself still follows the rules of your sector, such as the DHA standard for clinics.

Where we come in

We make UGC with 150+ permit-verified UAE creators, with the permit number in your campaign file, and shoot studio content in six themed sets in Al Quoz. If you would rather hand over the whole month, social media management plans, shoots and posts it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between UGC and influencer marketing?
An influencer posts about your product to their own followers, so you pay for their audience. A UGC creator makes a video for your channels and ads, so you pay for the video and the right to use it.
Is UGC cheaper than influencer marketing?
It is priced differently. UGC is priced per video: AED 600 to 3,500 from independent creators in Dubai, and with us from AED 1,100 + VAT per video on the smallest package, down to AED 750 on the largest retainer. Influencer fees follow audience size and are quoted on request, so compare them by what each post is expected to bring.
Can we run an influencer's post as an ad?
Yes, with their authorization and a licence: on TikTok as Spark Ads, on Instagram and Facebook as Partnership ads. Agree the period and the price in the contract before the post goes up.
Do UGC creators need an Advertiser Permit?
Yes. Since 1 February 2026, anyone who promotes a product, a service or content on social media in the UAE needs one. Every creator we book is verified before filming.
Which works best for ads in the UAE?
For paid social, UGC gives you several variations to test for a known price. Studio content carries products that have to look premium, and influencers bring reach for launches. Many campaigns mix them.
Can one shoot give us both studio content and UGC?
Yes. Our GROWTH and SCALE packages film at home and in the studio, and 15 retouched product stills from the same shoot are an add-on from AED 900 + VAT.
